Rowing To Face Stanford, Saturday

LOS ANGELES - The USC women's rowing team travels to the Bay Area this week to face Stanford in a head-to-head competition on Saturday, April 24, at Redwood Shores. This will be the final regular season race for the Women of Troy, who are coming off a two-week hiatus since racing at the George Washington Invitational.

The Trojans' Varsity Eight crew enters this week ranked No. 15 in the most recent US Rowing/Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association NCAA Division I poll. Stanford enters the week unranked.

The Varsity Fours will be the first to race at 10:10 a.m. on Saturday, followed by the Varsity Eights at 10:30 a.m. and JV Eights at 10:50 a.m. The Women of Troy's Novice Eight crew will be competing in the Women's Open Eight race set to begin at 11:10 a.m.

USC is looking for a strong performance at Redwood Shores, hoping to be well-prepared for the upcoming Pac-10 (May 16) and NCAA Championships (May 29-30) to be held on Lake Natoma in Sacramento.
