Men's Golf Heads To Pac-10s

THE TOURNEY--The No. 12 USC men's golf team travels to Tucson on April 26-28, as the University of Arizona will host the 2004 Pacific-10 Men's Golf Championships at The Gallery at Dove Mountain.
FORMAT--The 10-team tournament will be contested at The Gallery's North Course, a par 72, 7,412-yard layout. The 2004 Championships features six teams nationally ranked in the current Precept/Golf Coaches Association of America Top 25 and 13 individuals ranked in the current Golfweek/Sagarin Performance Index, including three semifinalists for the 2004 Ben Hogan award.
TEAMS--The following teams are scheduled to compete: No. 5 Arizona State, No. 18, California, Oregon, Oregon State, Stanford, No. 3 UCLA, No. 12 USC, Washington and Washington State. The 72-hole event features 36 holes on Monday and 18 on Tuesday and Wednesday. Twosomes will start from the holes one and 10 and begin play at 7 a.m. PDT on Monday and 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday. The low five scores from teams of six competitors will count towards the team totals each day.
LAST YEAR'S CONFERNCE TOURNEY--USC finished ninth at last year's conference tournament hosted by UCLA at Oakmont Country Club in Glendale, Calif.
SO FAR THIS YEAR--USC has eight top 10 finishes so far this season. The Trojans' best finish was a second place at the Cleveland Golf Classic.
