UCLA Football Scrimmage Stats

April 23, 2004

On Friday afternoon, April 23, the UCLA football team ran approximately 80 plays in a situational scrimmage on Spaulding Field.

Various series began at the 50-yard line, the three-yard line, the defensive 20-yard line and the defensive 15-yard line. The first-team offense competed against the first team defense and the second-team offense competed against the second-team defense.

Following are some key statistics from the scrimmage:


Drew Olson: 15 of 20 passes for 184 yards and touchdowns of 37 yards to Matt Slater, 20 yards to Idris Moss, 20 yards to Craig Bragg, 20 yards to Joe Cowan and 11 yards to Joe Cowan. The final four touchdown passes were in Red Zone situations (defensive 20-yard line and in)

David Koral: 6 of 8 passes for 60 yards.


Maurice Drew: 11 carries for 109 yards and two touchdowns (52 and 15 yards).


Craig Bragg: 6 catches for 58 yards and one touchdown (20)

Joe Cowan four catches for 46 yards and two touchdowns (20, 11)

Matt Slater two catches for 50 yards and one touchdown (37)

Kicking: Justin Medlock connected on a pair for field goals, one from 49 yards out

Defense: Justin London and Bruce Davis recorded sacks from the first defensive unit while Junior Lemau'u, Jason Hickman and Dan Nelson, among others, recorded sacks for the second unit.
