Gruendler/Pampoulov Into Pac-10 Final

Ojai, Calif. - UCLA's Philipp Gruendler and Luben Pampoulov advanced to the Pac-10 doubles final Saturday, defeating Cal's Patrick Briaud/Balazs Veress, 9-7 in their semifinal match at Ojai's Libbey Park.

Gruendler and Pampoulov will face Stanford's KC Corkery/James Pade in Sunday's final.

In the Pac-10 Invitational singles draw, UCLA's Chris Surapol defeated teammate Aaron Yovan, 6-0, 6-4 Saturday, advancing to the final to face Stanford's Carter Morris. Morris defeated Gruendler in the other semifinal Saturday.

Bruin junior Chris Lam, the last remaining Bruin the singles main draw, lost his semifinal match Saturday, falling to Stanford's Sam Warburg, 6-4, 6-4.
