Women's Golf Receives No. 3 in the NCAA Central Region

TUCSON, Ariz.- Arizona will head to Normal, Ill., for the NCAA Women's Golf Central Regional beginning on May 6, the NCAA announced Monday. The Wildcats received the third seed in that region.
Vanderbilt is the top seed in the Central Regional tournament, which is being hosted by Illinois State University. Also included in the field at Normal, Ill., are (in order of seeding) New Mexico, Southern California, Oklahoma, Michigan St., Tulsa, Missouri, TCU, Arkansas, Texas A & M, Kansas St., Indiana, Southern Methodist, Kent State, Purdue, Northwestern, Baylor, Notre Dame, Princeton, Illinois State and individuals from Wisconsin, Arkansas-Little Rock, and Michigan.
Illinois State University Golf Course serves as the host facility for the NCAA event. The course plays to a par of 71 and a yardage of 6,500 yards.
Arizona is among eight Pac-10 conference teams selected to one of the three regions. Other regional sites include the West Region in Stanford, Calif., and the East Region in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla.
