Evan Fox Wins 800 Meters At Sacramento State Open
Sacramento, Ca - Evan Fox ran a season-best 1:50.51 in the 800 meters and thus qualified for the upcoming NCAA Regionals as several Stanford athletes competed on Saturday at the Sacramento State Open.
Fox, a junior from La Mesa, Ca., bested the regional qualifying time of 1:50.62, and that was also the third best time for a Stanford 800 meter runner this year.
In the 100 meters, Stanley Wilson won his race in the 100 meters for a second straight week with a time of 10.69. Last week at the Big Meet, Wilson ran a 10.49wa to beat the competition at California.
At the Modesto Relays, Jill Camarena, the school record holder in the shot put, won the competition with a throw of 57-5 3/4 (17.52m), her second-best throw of the year.
