The top-ranked Washington men claimed their second straight Pac-10 title, while the No.1-seeded California women won their first Pac-10 title since 1979 Sunday at the Pacific-10 Conference Rowing Championships at Lake Natoma in Rancho Cordova, Calif.

With wins in three out of the four races, the California women won their first Conference crown in school history. The Golden Bears captured titles in the varsity eight, second varsity eight and novice eight races. Last year's varsity eight champion, Stanford finished fourth in the varsity eight race and USC took the bronze with an upset over thrid-seeded Washington State.

On the men's side, the Washington Huskies came from behind to take the varsity eight title for the second straight year over the Golden Bears. The Bears led from the start, but the Huskies put together a very fast last 200 meters to finish first. The Huskies also posted victories in the varsity four and second varsity eight races. California's freshmen remained undefeated on the year by winning their final over second-place Stanford.
