USC's Joe Schrimpl Named National Video Coordinator Of The Year

USC director of video operations Joe Schrimpl was named the 2004 National Video Coordinator of the Year by the Collegiate Sports Video Association at its annual convention on May 14 in Orlando.

The Bob Matey Award, named in honor of Texas A&M's former video coordinator, is voted on by the members of the CSVA.

Schrimpl, who has been the CSVA's Pac-10 Video Coordinator of the Year in both 2003 and 2004, came to USC in the summer of 2000.

He previously was the assistant video coordinator at Miami for 2 years (1998-2000). Before that, while an undergraduate at Drake, he spent 4 years (1994-98) handling a variety of production duties in the school's Teleproduction Center. During that time, also was the video coordinator for the football team for a year (1997-98) and was a freelance video producer, director and writer.
