Stanford Shuts Out Duke 4-0

ATHENS, Ga. - Freshman Theresa Logar continued her winning-streak in singles dual action and clinched the 4-0 win over Duke for the No. 1 Stanford women's tennis team in the quarterfinals of the 2004 NCAA Championships at McWhorter Stadium on the campus of the University of Georgia on Friday. The Cardinal boast a perfect 27-0 record this season.

Logar, ranked No. 40 by the ITA, improved her dual record to 25-0 with a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Blue Devil Saras Arasu. Sophomore Amber Liu boasts a 4-0 record in NCAA postseason action this season after a downing No. 8 Amanda Johnson 6-3, 6-1.

The Cardinal duos of Liu and Alice Barnes, and Emilia Anderson and Anne Yelsey, tallied wins to clinch the doubles point for Stanford and open an early lead.

Stanford faces No. 3-seed Vanderbilt in semifinal action on Saturday, May 22, at 3 p.m. ET at Henry Field Stadium.
