This Week In Pac-10 Track and Field
May 21, 2004
2004 PACIFIC-10 CONFERENCE OUTDOOR TRACK AND FIELD LISTThis list contains no less than the top 20 performances in each event, while all qualifiers for the 2004 Pac-10 Championships (May 14-15, Tucson, Ariz. -- combined events May 7-8) are above the underlined mark in each event. Marks in parentheses after each event heading are (in order) Pac-10 and NCAA regional qualifying marks. All Pac-10 champions (listed in bold) will automatically be invited to the NCAA West Region Championships (May 28-29, Northridge, Calif.). The top five finishers from each regional event automatically advance to the NCAA Championships (June 9-12, Austin, Texas). Another six to eight athletes nationally per event will be invited by the NCAA Championships selection committee based on a season performance list as long as that athlete competed in the regional. Qualifying marks must be made between March 1 and May 16.
List marks in parentheses for the races of 200 meters and under are not accepted as NCAA qualifying efforts, as they were not recorded in automatic (track) or metric (field) form. For the Pac-10 Championships, hand times are allowed, but field events still must be measured in metric units. Indoor marks (from January 1) and wind-aided marks of greater than 4.0 mps will be accepted for the Pac-10 Championships, but not for the NCAA Championships. Wind-aided marks of 2.0 - 4.0 mps will be accepted for NCAA Championships. Pac-10 qualifying marks in italic have been adjusted to meet the minimum field of 12 competitors.
Date of performance is listed after each entry. For distances of one lap and below, hand times are converted for placing using IAAF charts (+0.24 seconds for below one lap, +0.14 seconds for one lap and up).
Symbols: # - NCAA regional qualifier; ! - School record; i - indoor mark; (A) - altitude over 1000 meters; y - yards; *** - freshman; ** - sophomore; * - junior; no asterisk - senior.
