UCLA Wins NCAA Women's Golf Tournament

OPELIKA, Ala. (AP) - UCLA won the NCAA Division I Women's Golf Championshipson Saturday, finishing at 4 under and beating Oklahoma State by three strokes.
California's Sarah Huarte won the individual title, shooting a 3-under 69 inthe final round to finish with a 10-under 278 for the tournament - one shotbetter than Oklahoma State's Karin Sjodin on Grand National's Lake Course.
'This is by far the biggest tournament that I have ever won,' Huarte said.
The final round was supposed to be finished on Friday but it was suspendedbecause of darkness following a lightning delay of 3ï¿½ hours.
'The girls did a great job of doing everything we needed from them today,and we are able to get out of here as national champions,' UCLA coach CarrieForsyth said.
Duke, which started the day three shots behind UCLA, faltered and finishedthird at 7 over.
'UCLA and Oklahoma State just never made a mistake that we could reallytake advantage of,' Blue Devils coach Dan Brooks said.
