Amber Liu to Defend NCAA Singles Title

ATHENS, Ga. - Stanford sophomore Amber Liu will defend her title as she competes in the final match of the 2004 NCAA Singles Championship at the University of Georgia on Saturday.

In the semifinals on Friday, Liu (No. 4 seed) took a 6-1, 7-6 (7-2) win over Clemson's sixth-ranked Julie Coin.

Liu was crowned the 2003 NCAA Singles Champion as a freshman last season. She boasts an 11-0 record combined in her last two years at the NCAA Singles Championship.

Liu will take on No. 3-seed Julie Pandzic of Fresno State in the championship match at 1 p.m. ET on Saturday, May 29, at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex at Georgia.
