Corkery And Warburg Advance To Semifinals Of NCAA Doubles Championship

TULSA, Okla. - The Stanford men's tennis doubles team of junior Sam Warburg and sophomore KC Corkery advanced to the semifinals of the NCAA Doubles Championship, held at the University of Tulsa's Michael D. Case Tennis Center.

The Cardinal tandem cruised to a 6-3, 6-4 win over Calle Hansen and Pedro Rico of Pepperdine. Warburg and Corkery, ranked No. 8, survived the upset bug that bit the other three remaining ranked teams in the quarterfinals, including top seeded Richard and William Barker of Rice and the No. 3 seeded Bo Hodge and John Isner of Georgia.

Corkery and Warburg will square-off against Jarmaine Jenkins and Nathan Thompson of Clemson in one semifinal, while Chris Brandi and Hamid Mirzadeh of Florida will take on the team of Zolton Csandi and Izak van der Merwe of Old Dominion in the other semifinal. First serve for both matches is slated for 3:30 p.m. (CST).
