Oregon State would load the bases with no outs in the bottom of the frame as a double and two walks started the inning. One run would come across to score on a fielder's choice before Bruin reliever Adam Simon struck-out Chris Campos and forced Aaron Mathews to fly out to end the threat.
UCLA proceeded to score three more runs in the eighth as a two-run homer from Denove highlighted the inning. Mike Svetlic would also score later in the inning on a fielder's choice.
In the ninth, Denove hit a lead-off double to start a four-run rally. After a single from Svetlic and a walk to Jarrad Page, the bases were loaded. Josh Roenicke drove in a run with a single to right field before Ryan McCarthy knocked in two more on a single through the left side. The final run came around to score on a Preston Griffin single up the middle.
