Four UCLA Golfers Earn Pac-10 Academic Honors

Four UCLA golfers earned Pacific-10 Conference academic honors last week, the conference announced.
Senior Travis Johnson and three players from UCLA's national championship women's squad earned the honors.
On the men's team, Johnson earned second-team honors with a 3.39 gpa in mathematics. The second-ranked Bruins are scheduled to compete in the NCAA Championships beginning June 1 in Hot Springs, VA.
For the women's team, All-American Susie Mathews earned first team honors with a 3.7 grade point average in communications. Mathews finished third individually in the NCAA Championships on May 22.
Also earning honors for the women's team were seniors Bridget Dwyer and Gina Umeck, both second-team selections. Dwyer, scheduled to graduate this summer, compiled a 3.45 gpa in economics. Umeck, a four-time All-Pac-10 selection on the course, earned her third spot on the academic team with a 3.48 gpa in Spanish with a minor in Korean.
