10 Bears Earn Pac-10 All-Academic Honors

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Ten Golden Bears earned Pac-10 All-Academic honors, as announced today by the Pac-10. Seven members of the men's team, and three from the women's, were honored. Seniors Nick Mazur and Ahmad Wright and sophomore Kurt Seefeld earned first-team honors, while seniors Scott Norby-Cedillo and Stephanie Cowling, juniors David Glasgow and Greg Ross, sophomores Osamariemen Omwange and Trinety White and redshirt freshman Adam Burgh earned second-team honors.

Senior Ahmad Wright was named Cal's Outstanding Track Athletes at this year's Track Awards Banquet. Wright placed third in the 400-meter hurdles at the Pac-10 championships, and sixth at the NCAA Regionals.

Mazur was a member of the Bears 400x100-meter relay that placed seventh at the NCAA Regionals this past weekend. Their time of 40.38 matches the team's season-best best.

Sophomore Kurt Seefeld placed fifth in the discus throw at this year's Pac-10 championships with a distance of 169-03.
