Collin Henderson Named Third Team Academic All-American

Senior Collin Henderson was named to the 2004 Academic All-American University Division Baseball Third Team Tuesday. The Puyallup native is maintaining a 4.00 GPA while working toward his master's degree in athletic administration. He earned his bachelor's degree in sports management last spring with a minor in business.

Henderson has received numerous academic awards while wearing a Cougar jersey, including being named to the Pacific-10 All-Academic First Team six times, three times for baseball and three for football. He was also a Collegiate Sports Information Directors Association (CoSIDA) Academic All-District VIII honoree four times, earning the honor in 2002 and 2004 for baseball and in 2000 and 2001 as a member of the Cougar football team.

The baseball team co-captain recorded 53 runs, 90 hits, 16 doubles and two home runs while driving home 51 runs wearing Crimson pinstripes. He has not made a fielding error in two years, tying him for first among Pac-10 players in fielding percentage.
