Jeff Clement And Ian Kennedy Earn All-Pac-10 Honors

LOS ANGELES -- USC sophomore catcher Jeff Clement and freshman pitcher Ian Kennedy were named today to the 2004 All-Pac-10 Team as voted on by the conference baseball coaches. Clement earned his second conference honor in as many years.

This season, Clement batted .293 and led the Trojans with 10 home runs and 43 RBI. Kennedy, the first freshman No. 1 starter at USC since Randy Flores in 1994, went 7-2 with a 2.91 ERA. In 92 2/3 innings, Kennedy allowed 86 hits while walking 31 and striking out 120 batters.

Clement and Kennedy have been invited to participate at the 2004 U.S. National Team Trials later this month in North Carolina.

Five other Trojans earned honorable mention: senior outfielder Jon Brewster, sophomore outfielder Baron Frost, sophomore third baseman Billy Hart, senior infielder Michael Moon and sophomore infielder Blake Sharpe.
