TEMPE, Ariz. ( -- Arizona State pitchers Jeff Mousser (35th round, Minnesota) and Ladd Hall (27th round, Montreal) were selected during the second day of the annual Major League Baseball amateur draft to bring the total number of Sun Devils drafted in 2004 to six.

Junior shortstop Dustin Pedroia (2nd round, Boston), junior infielder Josh Asanovich (11th round, Tampa Bay), junior RHP Jason Urquidez (11th round, Cincinnati) and junior outfielder Jeff Larish (13th round, Los Angeles) were all taken in the first 13 round during the first day of the draft Monday.

The six selections bring the total number of all-time selections to 330 dating back to the start of the amateur draft in 1965. ASU's 330 selections in the 40-year history of the draft and 87 in the last 11 years are most among all NCAA schools.

Mousser (Tempe, Ariz./BYU/Marcos de Niza HS) was drafted for the first time in his career with the 1051st overall selection by the Minnesota Twins. The senior transfer from BYU went 6-4 with a 3.94 ERA in 2004. He ranks seventh in the Pac-10 in ERA and seventh with a .254 opponents batting average.

Hall (Hereford, Ariz./Eastern Arizona CC/Buena HS) was drafted for the third time in his career despite not pitching for the Sun Devils this season. The junior college transfer from Eastern Arizona College was previously drafted out of high school (2001) in the 22nd round by the Seattle Mariners and in the 30th round by the Houston Astros in 2002.
