Rain, Lightning Postpone First Day Of NCAA Outdoor T & F Meet

June 9, 2004

Due to inclement weather, most events scheduled for Wednesday (June 9) at the 2004 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Austin, TX -- excluding the completed women's 4x100-meter relay and women's heptathlon 100m hurdles -- have been postponed. At 10 p.m. PT a new schedule of events will be posted at www.TexasSports.com.

In the women's 4 X 100m relay, UCLA's relay of senior Sani Roseby, senior Adia McKinnon, sophomore Dawn Harper and junior Monique Henderson placed third in heat three (44.51). The top nine relays advance to Saturday's final. UCLA's time of 44.51 was tied with TCU, but the Horned Frogs advanced when the times were broken down to a thousandth of a second (TCU-44.503/UCLA-44.509). LSU's relay had the top time (43.04), followed by Texas (43.41).

Entering the 2004 NCAA Outdoor T & F Championships, the Bruin women are ranked No. 1 in the U. S., followed by No. 2 LSU, the defending team champion and No. 3 Texas.
