Jason Donald Garners Collegiate Baseball Freshman All-America Honors

LONG BEACH, Calif. - Arizona shortstop Jason Donald has been feted with Collegiate Baseball Freshman All-America honors, the publication announced on Friday.

Donald, the only Wildcat player to start all 58 games for Arizona this season, will enter tonight's Super Regional game against Long Beach State with a .322 average, a team-high 55 runs scored, 11 doubles, eight home runs and 43 RBI. He has posted multiple hits in a team-high 22 games this season.

Donald's 2004 honors marks the fifth time in the last seven years that at least one Arizona player has garnered first team freshman All-America honors from the publication. He joins current teammates Brad Boyer, Trevor Crowe, Nick Hundley and Derek Decater who were all named to the Collegiate Baseball Freshman All-America team last season.
