Single-Game Football Tickets on Sale July 1
June 11, 2004
BERKELEY - Coming off an Insight Bowl victory and several polls already placing the Bears in the Top 20 for this fall, Cal football has become the hot ticket in the Bay Area. Season ticket sales are more than 30 percent ahead of last year's pace and the best seats are going fast.
If you haven't done so already, you can still purchase season ticket packages for 2004 with prices ranging from $59 for BlueZone and GoldZone to $157 for reserved seats. Call (800) GO BEARS or order them online here.
In addition, single-game tickets for Cal home games (except Stanford) will go on sale July 1. And for the first time, single-game general admission tickets will be available well in advance of the first home game, and may be purchased on the Internet, over the, phone or in person.
'In the past, single-game general admission tickets were only available for purchase in-person, and beginning two weeks prior to each home game,' said Robert Hartman, associate athletic director of marketing. 'Allowing people to purchase tickets beginning July 1 should be a great convenience for our fans. Given the strong demand for tickets, we hope that allowing fans to buy early will help cut down on potential long lines at the ticket office and on game day.'
Youth general admission tickets for the home opener on Saturday, Sept. 11 are expected to go fast. Tickets for youth (17 and under) are only one penny for the game against New Mexico State! Up to four (4) penny tickets may be purchased with each accompanying $15 adult general admission ticket purchase.
'A special thank you goes out to our partner, PennySaver, for allowing us to offer this unprecedented discount,' Hartman said. 'This has to be one of the best values ever offered to Bay Area sports fans.'
Penny tickets will also go on sale starting July 1.
The only tickets not available for sale on July 1 are for the 2004 Big Game, which go on sale Sept. 25. All tickets for the Big Game are reserved seating.
