Adam Tenforde, Sara Bei Named To CoSIDA District-8 All-Academic Team

Stanford, Ca - Adam Tenforde and Sara Bei, who helped lead the Stanford men's and women's teams to the 2003 NCAA cross country titles, have been named to the CoSIDA All-District VIII Track & Field/Cross Country Academic Teams.

Tenforde graduated from Stanford in 2004 with a 3.88 GPA in Human Biology. Bei, a junior from Santa Rosa, Ca, holds a 3.28 GPA in Human Biology.

During his four seasons at Stanford, Tenforde excelled in the classroom by being named All Pac-10 Academic five times. Tenforde recently won an NCAA Post-Graduate Scholarship.

Tenforde won All-America honors five times in track and cross country. During seven races during the 2003 cross country season, Tenforde finished in the Top-10 six times. Tenforde, from Richland, Wa, recently produced an Olympic 'B' standard time of 13:39.47 in the 5,000 meters at the Payton Jordan U.S. Open.

Bei, this past weekend, gained All-American honors for a fourth time with a second place finish in the 5,000 meters at the NCAA Track & Field Championships in Austin, Tx. Bei was the 2003 Pac-10 Cross Country Athlete of the year. Bei is the two-time (2002, 2003) Pac-10 cross country individual champion. Bei has gained All Pac-10 Academic honors five times.

Tenforde and Bei will now be placed on the national Academic All-America ballot.
