Roger Tambellini And Kevin Stadler Qualify For U.S. Open

Los Angeles - Former USC golfers Roger Tambellini and Kevin Stadler will compete in the 104th U.S. Open Golf Tournament at Shinnecock Hills in Southampton, NY, on June 17-20.

Tambellini was the individual medalist at the sectional qualifying round in Daly City, Calif., at Lake Merced Golf Club. Tambellini, who competed for the Trojans from 1994-1997, shot 136 over 36 holes (69-67) to lead all qualifiers.

Stadler, who competed for USC from 1998-2002, qualified at Canoe Brook Country Club in Summit, NJ, after shooting 137 for 36 holes (68-69).

Tambellini has been grouped with Bo Van Pelt of Bixby, OK, and Brendan Jones of Australia in the first round, while Stadler will golf with David Morland of Canada and John Connelly of Perrysburg, OH.
