Stanford Women Progress To Semi Finals

In a great race against England's Hereford crew the Stanford women revealedtheir relentless determination. Hereford was first off the starting lineand ahead of Stanford by as much as a few feet of open water at the 500meter mark. At the 750, half way through, Stanford pulled even. With 400meters to go Stanford was at 37 strokes per minute to Hereford's 34 andStanford was down by half a length. With 30 strokes to go Stanford dreweven and then exploded to cross the line at 40 spm finishing half a lengthahead of Hereford. Their finish time was 5:21, the fastest time overall.

In the afternoon race against Guildford, Stanford led from start to finish,thus earning a birth in the semi-final round. The Cardinal women will raceAverdeen on Sunday. For race results, please go to the regatta website,
