UCLA Men's and Women's Golf Update

The summer golf season has begun and UCLA men's and women's golfers are in the thick of the off-season competition schedule.
At the 28th Annual U.S. Women's Amateur Publinks, hosted by the Golden HorseshoeGolf Club in Williamsburg, VA, UCLA letterwinners Hannah Jun, Melissa Martin and Yvonne Choe are battling to make the 36-hole cut and advance to match play.
Jun led the group with a one-over par 73 and is tied for 27th, followed by Martin, who is tied for 55th at three-over 75. Choe is tied for 94th at 78.
The low 64 players advance to match play after 36 holes. Hawaii's Stephanie Kono and Carling Cho of San Juan Capistrano are tied for first place at three-under 69. Defending champion Michelle Wie is tied for third at two-under par 70.
At the California State Amateur, UCLA freshman Chris Heintz is tied for 26th entering the final round of stroke play. Heintz posted scores of 75-72-147 at Poppy Hills and Pebble Beach Golf Links on Monday and Tuesday.
The top 32 players will advance to match play following Wednesday's round at Pebble Beach. Bob Niger of ElDorado Hills leads the field at 140 after posting rounds of 68-72.
