Bears Compete at USA Junior Nationals and Pre-Trials Meet

PROVO, Utah - Antonette Carter set a new school record in the 200 meter dash with her personal best of 23.26 today at the BYU Sprint and Power Pre-Trials Meet. She doubled up to finish eighth in the 100 meter dash at 11.73.
Graduated senior Deanna Slaton ran a 58.05, close to personal best set a few weeks ago of 57.85, to finish sixth in the women's 400 meter hurdles. Alum and throws coach Jenn Joyce threw a 214-04 to finish eighth in the hammer, a day after setting achieving the Olympic 'A' Standard and setting a new Canadian record. Alum Tim Bogdanof finished third in the men's 100 meter hurdles at 13.84.
At USA Junior Nationals, Darren Woods, Craig Kent, and John Ludden all finished sixth in their respective events. Woods ran a 47.87 in the men's 400 meters while Kent threw a 59-03 in the shot and Ludden threw a 191-09 in th hammer.
