UCLA Softball Featured on Debut of Softball 360

VAN NUYS, Calif - Softball 360�, the highly anticipated, nationwide original television series devoted entirely to softball, is set to debut beginning Monday, July 5, 2004. In Southern California, the show will debut at 3:30 pm Pacific Time on Monday on FOX Sports West. The show is scheduled for an 18-week run.

The debut episode will feature a segment on the two-time defending NCAA Champion UCLA softball team.

Softball 360 is co-sponsored by Hooters Restaurants and the Amateur Softball Association (ASA), the program will offer viewers the opportunity to see softball from a different point-of-view according to Mike Zlaket, vice president of baseball/softball for Easton Sports.

The first episode of Softball 360� will showcase the 'Easton Bomb Squad Home Run Challenge,' from the Durham Bulls Athletic Park in Durham, NC. The popular segment features four of the biggest hitters from the softball world, Jeff Wallace, Howie Krause, Rusty Bumgardner and Scott Striebel, crushing balls over the netting on the left field wall, into the Durham Bull sign and into the stadium parking lot. Also featured is an action packed softball recap segment entitled, 'The Inside Look presented by Hooters and the ASA' highlighting softball events and personalities from around the country including the back-to-back WCWS National Champion UCLA Bruins.

'We know that softball players and fans have a huge desire for a show like this,' said Ray Colaiacovo, executive producer of Softball 360�. 'We've put a lot of time and effort behind the production and we know that the viewers are going to be pleased with how we've featured softball.'

Future episodes of Softball 360� will highlight 'Easton Bomb Squad Home Run Challenge' participants launching bombs at the stadiums of the Tampa Bay Devil Rays, Bowie BaySox, Milwaukee Brewers, Columbus Clippers and many others Major and Minor League teams.
