Thompson and Strack Advance to US Diving Senior Nationals

July 7, 2004

Both Paige Thompson and Janine Strack advanced to the National meet by virtue of their top five finishes at the Zone A Championship held over the weekend. On Saturday, July 3rd, in the Women's One Meter event, Paige Thompson advanced with a fifth place finish in the event.

'It is nice to have Paige advance to the National meet, even with the multiple misses in her dive list. The National meet will be a good place to see if Paige can overcome some of the things she has been struggling with this spring,' Head Coach Tom Stebbins said.

On Sunday, July 4rth, Janine Strack finished fourth in the Women's Ten Meter Platform event. 'Janine did a great job of competing. Because of her various injuries, she really hasn't had much training this spring. She has proven to me that she is capable of really putting a great list together. I am excited for her opportunities at the upcoming Nationals.'

Over the weekend, returning junior Sara Clark competed at the Zone D Championship held in steamy Tucson, AZ. Sara finished 14th on three meter (180.55), and 17th on one meter (153.90).
