Imagane, Lobdell, and Watanabe Fail to Advance at Olympic Trials

Seniors Jackie Lobdell and Naoko Watanabe, along with freshman Jane Imagane, failed to advance in their races at the 2004 U.S. Olympic Swimming Trials in Long Beach, CA.

Watanabe, competing in the 100m backstroke, finished 39th overall with a time of 1:05.26. Lobdell , competing in the 400m freestyle, finished 39th with a time of 4:20.79. Imagane, also competing in the 400m freestyle, finished 54th with a time of 4:23.88.

On Saturday, senior Kristen Lewis and sophomore Kim Vandenberg will compete in the 200m butterfly. On Wednesday, both Lewis and Vandenberg advanced to the semifinals of the 100m butterfly. Vandenberg swam a lifetime best as both athletes moved up a spot from their preliminary races.
