Stanford Remains On Top Of USA Baseball Player Study

Durham, N.C. - Stanford remained on top of a USA Baseball National Team player study released Friday that ranks the Top 50 collegiate baseball programs in terms of producing USA Baseball National Team players from 1984-2004. The original study was released by the organization in September of 2002.
'We've been fortunate to be able to recruit high-caliber baseball players to Stanford and then develop them further after they are here,' said Stanford head coach Mark Marquess.
Stanford led the nation in each of three categories researched.
The Cardinal has produced 24 Team USA players over the last 21 years, nine ahead of second-place USC. The 24 Stanford players that have participated for Team USA have combined to play 33 seasons. The Cardinal also has had at least one player on Team USA in 19 of the last 21 years and for 18 consecutive summers beginning in 1986.
