Swimmers Earn Academic Honors

CORVALLIS, Ore. - Oregon State women's swimmers Birte Steven (Hannover, Germany/Humboldtgymnasium HS) and Mari Embertson (Roseburg, Ore./Roseburg HS) have earned All-America Academic honors from the College Swim Coaches Association of America, while OSU's Kristin Huston (Chico, Calif./Pleasant Valley HS) and Ausra Pacebutaite (Vilnius, Lithuania/Ozo Secondary HS) earned honorable mention.

The Beavers had the nation's 22nd-highest team grade point average among NCAA Division I women's squads at 3.32, according to the CSCAA. OSU placed 20th in the NCAA Championships last season with Steven, a senior, earning the sixth and seventh All-America honors of her career and Embertson, a junior, earning the first All-America honor of her career.
