McClung, Barrett Named To U.S. U-20 Roster for 2004 Milk Cup

July 15, 2004

UCLA men's soccer players Kiel McClung and Chad Barrett have been selected to the U.S. Under-20 National Team roster for the 2004 Milk Cup in Northern Ireland.

The U.S. will face Denmark on July 17, Turkey on July 19 and Wales on July 21 in group play. The tournament is serving as preparation for the CONCACAF U-20 qualifying tournament in January for the 2005 U-20 World Cup.

McClung, a defender from Palmdale, has seen significant action with the U-20s this summer. He started for the team at the Busan Four Nations International Tournament in South Korea last month. McClung has earned five U-20 caps this year.

Barrett, a forward from Beaverton, Ore., is UCLA's top returning scorer from last season, notching 10 goals and eight assists for 28 points. He has played in six games with three starts for the U-20s this year, scoring three goals
