Anjeanette Brown Named Assistant Men's Golf Coach

Former Oregon State University women's golf standout Anjeanette Brown (formerly Dabbs) has been named assistant men's golf coach, Beaver head coach Brian Watts announced Wednesday.
'We're very excited to have someone with Anjeanette's background join our staff,' Watts said. 'She has tremendous experience with the Colorado Golf Association, and had a remarkable career at Oregon State. She's very excited to come back to OSU and help build the program.
'Anjeanette's playing background and knowledge of the courses we play, along with her organizational abilities and her passion for the job, make her a true asset to the program.'
Brown has served as the Director of Youth Programs for the Colorado Golf Association in Denver since 2001, overseeing the Colorado Junior Golf Association, the Eisenhower-Evans Caddie Scholarship Program and developing programs for at-risk youths in the community.
Brown excelled as a student-athlete at OSU, earning honorable mention All-Pacific-10 honors following the 1998 and 1999 seasons.
The Stockton, Calif., native won the 1997 Pepperdine Wave Invitational and shares the school record for the lowest round with a 69.
Brown earned four letters from 1996-99 and is third on OSU's all-time list with eight top-10 finishes. She played for Watts when he was the assistant coach for the men's and women's programs.
'I'm very excited,' Brown said. 'Corvallis is one of my homes - it's been hard to be away for 3 ï¿½ years. I'm happy about the opportunity to work with the men's golf team and be a part of something special.'
Brown was the Director of Operations at the 2000 NCAA Division I Women's Golf Championship and served as an intern in the athletic director's office at Oregon State from 2000-01.
Brown joins fellow Beaver golfing great Kathleen Takaishi on the OSU coaching staff; Takaishiwas named the women's assistant coach in February.
Brown officially begins at OSU on Aug. 1.
