LOS ANGELES -- USC sophomore outfielder Daniel Perales (Orange, Calif/Mater Dei HS) was named as the starting center fielder for the West Division at the 2004 Cape Cod Baseball League All-Star Game on Saturday. Perales, who is playing for the Falmouth Commodores, is batting .287 (27-for-94) with two home runs and 12 RBI. He also has nine doubles and a triple.

In his freshman season with the Trojans last year, Perales batted .286 (54-for-189) with two home runs and 34 RBI. He was the Trojans' everyday starter in center field.

The 42nd annual All-Star Game represents the top players in what is viewed as the premier collegiate summer league as players utilize wood bats.
