Cardinal Women's Volleyball Picked Sixth In AVCA Preseason Poll

Stanford, Calif. - The Stanford women's volleyball team checks in at sixth in the 2004 AVCA USA Today/CSTV Preseason Coaches Poll released today. The Cardinal open the season on September 3 in Reno, Nevada against Utah State.Stanford finished 2003 with a 25-7 overall record, 14-4 in the Pac-10, while making their 23rd consecutive appearance in the NCAA Tournament.The Pacific-10 Conference nabbed five of the top 10 spots and six overall places in the preseason poll. The Big Ten placed four teams in the preseason poll, while the Big 12 and West Coast Conference each produced three teams in the poll. A total of 50 schools were listed on at least two ballots cast by the AVCA panel of coaches, in addition to four schools mentioned on just one ballot.AVCA USA Today/CSTV Preseason Coaches Poll
