Anderson Misses Cut at U.S. Women's Amateur

ERIE, Pa. - Arizona State's Lindsay Anderson of El Paso, Texas, missed the cut at the 2004 U.S. Women's Amateur Championship following Tuesday's second round, being held August 9-15 at the par 72, 6,356-yard Kahkwa Club.Anderson, who will be a sophomore on the 2004-05 Sun Devil squad, shot a 15-over 87 on Tuesday for a two-day total of 27-over 171 and a tie for 149th. The top 64 competitors advance to match play to determine the tournament champion.Anderson qualified for the U.S. Women's Amateur with a tie for fifth place at the Sectional Qualifier at the Broadmoor in Colorado Springs, Colo., in July.Amie Cochran of Torrance, Calif., leads the U.S. Women's Amateur after carding a one-under 71 on Tuesday for a two-round total of three-under 141.Live scoring and more information about the 2004 U.S. Women's Amateur can be found at
