Four Bruins Survive the Cut at the U.S. Women's Amateur

All of four of UCLA's entrants in the 104th U.S. Women's Amateur survived the 36-hole cut at the Kahkwa Club in Erie, PA on Tuesday. The foursome will advance to the match play draw, which begins Wednesday.Incoming freshman Amie Cochran of Torrance fired her second straight round under par and placed first in the stroke play competition with a score of 141 (-3). Cochran posted a 71 on Tuesday. After playing the front nine in one-over par 37, she birdied the par 5 14th and the par 4 16th to card a two-under 34 on the inward nine.The 36-hole cut was set at 156 (+12).Fifth-year senior Gina Umeck tied for 21st at 151 (+7), followed by two-time All-American Charlotte Mayorkas who tied for 30th at 152 (+8). Newly graduated Bridget Dwyer tied for 48th at 154.For complete results, click here.
