Husky Football Practice Report for August 15

Seattle - The Washington football team wrapped up its final practice at Husky Stadium this week and piled into four buses late during the afternoon to make the trip to Olympia where the team will work out at Evergreen State College.The Huskies' workout on Sunday was roughly three hours long, including a session of running and conditioning to finish the day's work. For the first time, red jerseys indicated a player unable to practice due to an injury were visible along the sidelines.'We've got some guys with some nicks and bumps and bruises,' said Husky coach Keith Gilbertson. 'It's just training camp stuff. I don't know that it is unusual.'The most serious injury thus far has been to junior college transfer Josh Okoebor, who will miss the 2004 season after suffering a serious knee injury. Husky linebacker Joe Lobendahn did not practice due to a trip to the dentist.Gilbertson announced that junior defensive lineman Graham Lasee and redshirt freshman Erik Berglund had decided to no longer compete on the team and have left the squad.Washington sophomore Jason Benn has moved from tight end to offensive guard. Tui Alailefaleula, who moved to offensive tackle last spring is now working at guard.The Huskies will work out at 3:15 Monday at Evergreen State College. Tuesday the team will holds it first full pads practice of the year.
