USC Selected Fifth In Pac-10 Preseason Coaches Poll

WALNUT CREEK, Calif.-- The USC women's soccer team has been selected to finish fifth in the 2004 Pac-10 preseason coaches' poll. Defending Conference champion UCLA has been voted as the favorite to the title, receiving seven of 10 first-place votes as Stanford (2) and Arizona State (1) received the remaining first-place votes.Just five points seperate the fourth- through sixth-place teams as Washington tabbed fourth with 55 points, sliding by USC (52 pts.) and California (50 pts.).Five Pac-10 teams competed in the NCAA women's soccer championship last season: UCLA, Arizona State, Stanford, USC, and Washington.Following are the results of the preseason coaches' poll; coaches are not allowed to vote for their own teams (points 9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1, first place votes are in parentheses): 1.
