Caroline Bruce One Spot Shy Of Qualifying For 200 Meter Breast Final At Olympics

Athens, Greece - Caroline Bruce (Stanford freshman in 2004-05) just missed a spot in the Olympic finals of the 200 meter breast by taking ninth overall in the semifinals of the event with a time of 2:27.60 that was just off her career best. Bruce had finished eighth overall in the heats earlier in the day, clocking in at 2:27.82. Amanda Beard of the United States was the top qualifier for Thursday's finals, winning the semis on Wednesday in 2:25.62.
