Walter and Hagan Combine For Pair Of TDs at Scrimmage

Andrew Walter was 10-of-15 for 196 yards, including two touchdown tosses to Derek Hagan, as the Sun Devils closed Camp Tontozona in a rainy scrimmage held Friday afternoon.The scrimmage was delayed for 15 minutes about five minutes after starting as lightning and rain hit the field hard.Walter was impressive as his 10 completions in the full scrimmage was with wet conditions. Sam Keller was 6-of-11 for 104 yards.Walter finished strong, completing five of final seven passes.ASU's rushing game was highlighted by a 48-yard run by sophomore Loren Wade, who finished with 47 yards on six carriers, and a 54-yard jaunt by Randy Hill. Hakim Hill added 39 yards on seven carries.Wade also caught two passes for 36 yards, but it was Hagan who made the most of his three catches for 69 yards with touchdown catches of 36 yards and 30 yards.Matt Miller had four catches for 37 yards, while Moey Mutz had two catches for 50 yards.Also impressive was sophomore kicker Jesse Ainsworth, who hit 12-of-14 field goals when the Sun Devils scrimmaged special teams.Senior Chris McKenzie added an interception.ASU opens the season on Sept. 2 against UTEP at Sun Devil Stadium/Frank Kush Field at 7 p.m.
