USC Drops Home Opener To Hawaii

LOS ANGELES -- Gabrielle Bohlman's goal at 47:56 proved to be the game-winner Friday as the Hawaii Rainbow Wahine defeated the USC Women of Troy, 2-1, at McAlister Field in USC's home opener. Bohlman beat USC goalie Julie Peterson in front off a pass from the right side by Kalena Eaton.Hawaii improves to 2-1-1 on the season while USC falls to 1-2 overall.National Player of the Year candidate Natasha Kai scored the first goal of the match at 13:26 on a USC turnover. Kai buried her second goal of the season from 20 yards out into the lower right corner. Hawaii kept USC scoreless until the final minute of the first half. Sophomore Jocelyn Hein headed the tying goal off a cross from the right side by senior Ashley Casas.USC will host Rutgers on Sunday (Sept. 5) at 1 p.m.
