Devine Named to Soccer America's Team of the Week

LOS ANGELES - Senior Kim Devine becomes the second UCLA player in as many weeks to be named to Soccer America's Team of the Week Wednesday, following a three-goal performance against UCSB last Sunday.

Devine, a forward from Laguna Niguel, Calif., scored all three of her goals in the span of three minutes and 25 seconds. It marked the 15th hat trick in the 11-year history of the program. She follows Danesha Adams, who was named to the team last week.

In addition to Soccer America's honor, Devine was also listed as this week's Pac-10 Player of the Week and the UCLA Met-RX Student-Athlete of the Week.

Scores five minutes into college debut, helping Tigers upset nationally ranked Texas A&M, 2-1.

Kelley Schweighart (Washington), sr. (1)
Nets game-winning goal in 2-1 victory over then-No. 8 Tennessee, third straight UW win over ranked opponent.

Brittany Timko (Nebraska), so. (1)
Has three assists against Eastern Illinois (4-0), one shy of the school record, and celebrates her 19th birthday by scoring two goals against Purdue (3-0).


Kim Devine (UCLA), sr. (1)
Posts hat trick in 6-1 victory over UC Santa Barbara, scoring all three goals in a span of less than three and a half minutes.

Natasha Kai (Hawaii), jr. (1)
Leads Rainbow Wahine to road wins over UC Santa Barbara, USC and Loyola Marymount, all by 2-1 margins, with the OT winners against UCSB and LMU and goal against USC.

Ashley Kellgren (Florida), sr. (1)
Scores three goals in 5-1 win over then-No. 25 Duke, the first Gator hat trick since Abby Wambach's hat trick in the 2001 NCAA Tournament.

Christine Sinclair (Portland), jr. (1)
Contributes on all three UP goals, scoring two and assisting on the third, in 3-1 win at Connecticut, scores in 3-2 victory over Harvard.

Katie Thorlakson (Notre Dame), jr. (2)
Scores her first career hat trick and adds two assists in Notre Dame's 5-2 win over Santa Clara for eight points, most ever by an Irish player against a Top 25 opponent.
