Oregon State Sweeps Auburn

CORVALLIS, Ore. - Allison Lawrence and Amanda Eggert combined for 27 kills to lead Oregon State to a 3-0 win over Auburn in the Salbasgeon Suites Invitational on Saturday morning. The Beavers won 30-24, 30-23, 30-27.

Lawrence hit .567 with 17 kills, and Eggert hit .500 with 10 kills. As a team, OSU hit .333 with 49 kills. Auburn hit .223, with Whitney Jacob turning in 11 kills on .769 hitting.

The Beavers (3-2) managed only 27 digs to Auburn's 37. Karah Rhoades had 10, and Desma Stovall had seven, but no other OSU players had more than three. Auburn's Bailey Veit led all players with 11 digs.

In Saturday's other early session match, Saint Mary's eked out a five-game win over Oral Roberts. OSU and Saint Mary's will play at 7:30 p.m. Saturday in a match that will decide the invitational champion, since both teams enter that match undefeated for the weekend.
