Cal's Eisenberg Named Pac-10 Player of the Week

BERKELEY, Calif. - California junior forward Liz Eisenberg has been named the Pac-10 Women's Soccer Player of the Week for Sept. 7-13, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.

Eisenberg, from San Rafael, Calif., posted four goals over the weekend, including a hat trick in California's 5-1 victory over San Jose State on Sept. 12. This marks her first collegiate hat trick and the Bears' first since the 2002 season. Eisenberg scored Cal's first, third and fifth goals in the win. She led the club with six shots, four of which were on goal. In a 3-0 win over Colgate on Sept. 10, Eisenberg scored Cal's final goal with 52 seconds remaining.

After entering the season with four-career points, Eisenberg leads Cal in points (10) and goals (5).

The No. 14 Bears (4-1-1 overall) host Pennsylvania on Friday in a non-conference match-up starting at 4:30 p.m.

This is Eisenberg's first Pac-10 Player of the Week honor and California's 12th weekly honor all-time.
