Beavers Hit .321 To Sweep Nevada

SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The Oregon State volleyball team used a balanced offensive attack to beat Nevada 30-27, 30-13, 30-17 at the San Diego Invitational on Saturday afternoon. The Beavers improved to 5-3, while Nevada dropped to 5-4.
Desma Stovall dished out 37 assists to set up an OSU offense that hit .321 on 45 kills. Allison Lawrence hit .375 with 10 kills, and Karah Rhoades added 10 as well. Katelyn Healy came up with eight kills on .412 hitting, and Amanda Eggert hit .312 with eight kills. Salaia Salave'a had a match-high 11 kills for Nevada, but the Wolf Pack hit just .066 as a team.
The Beavers turned in another strong defensive performance as well, outdigging Nevada 54-48. Four OSU players registered double-figures, led by Rhoades with 15 and Stovall with 12. Lawrence and Nina Baltimore had 10 apiece. Salave'a led Nevada with 13.
Lawrence served a season-high five aces, and Rhoades and Eggert led the Beavers with three blocks apiece.
OSU wraps up the tournament with a match against No. 23 San Diego at 7 p.m.
