Beavers Top New Mexico 17-7

CORVALLIS, Ore. (AP) - Derek Anderson passed for 274 yards, Dwight Wrightran for 108 yards and Oregon State held off New Mexico 17-7 Saturday, despitemore kicking problems for the Beavers.
Oregon State (1-2) outgained New Mexico 398-114 and had the ball for morethan 38 minutes, but John Dailey missed field goals of 43 and 34 yards. Daileyreplaced Alexis Serna as the Beavers No. 1 kicker after Serna missed threeextra points in a 22-21 opening loss at LSU.
Serna replaced Dailey in the fourth quarter and kicked a 35-yard field goal.
New Mexico (1-2) never got going offensively.
Lobos quarterback Kole McKamey was 4-of-12 for 10 yards in the first half,but suffered a concussion and didn't suit up after halftime. Backup Tali Enididn't fare much better, going 3-for-18.
Joe Newton had nine catches for 97 yards for Oregon State. Andersoncompleted 24 of 50 passes and didn't throw an interception, after having fourpicks in the Beavers' 53-34 loss at Boise State last week.
Oregon State shut down Lobos tailback DonTrell Moore for a second straightmeeting, holding last season's Mountain West Conference leading-rusher to 22yards. Moore ran for just 12 yards against the Beavers in a 55-14 loss lastyear in the Las Vegas Bowl.
New Mexico's lone touchdown was scored by its defense.
Anderson hooked up with Newton three times on a second-quarter drive thatled to the Beavers' first touchdown at 12:44 in the second quarter. AnthonyWheat-Brown capped a 10-play, 67-yard drive with an 11-yard touchdown run justbefore halftime.
The Lobos, who nearly upset Washington State in their opener and then beatTexas Tech for the first time in 20 years last week, are 0-9 against Pac-10schools, dating back to 1987.
Oregon State's Aric Williams intercepted an attempted halfback pass fromMoore in the third quarter and ran it back to the New Mexico 14. But on thirddown Anderson had the ball knocked out of his hands by Josh Bazinet, whoscooped it up and ran it back 70 yards for New Mexico's only score.
