California Defeats Fullerton 1-0

BERKELEY - No. 7 California kept their undefeated record intact on Friday, defeating CS Fullerton, 1-0, in Fullerton at the SoccerTown Classic. California moves to a perfect 5-0, while, while Fullerton drops to 0-4-1.

The Golden Bear's lone goal came courtesy of junior forward Pieter Berger. Junior midfielder Angel Quintero saw his shot in the 36th minute blocked by Titan's keeper Sam Reynolds, but Berger was there to slot home the rebound from 15 yards out.

The goal was Berger's second of the year. Cal keeper Eric Kronberg recorded one save in the second half to earn the shutout. The Bears haven't allowed a goal in 4 games, outscoring opponents 10-1 on the season.

The Bears next face the UC Irvine Anteaters on Sunday in Fullerton at 5 p.m.
