Cardinal Women In 12th Heading Into Final Round Of Fall Preview

Sunriver, Ore. - The Stanford women's golf team shot an 11-over par 295 on the second day of competition at the NCAA Fall Preview in Sunriver, Ore. The squad's two-round total of 595 puts them in 12th place heading into the final round of action on Wednesday. Washington moved into a tie for first place overall with Duke (577) and hold a slim two stroke lead. Rounding out the top five are Arizona State (579), Oklahoma State (580) and Georgia (580).

The start of the second round was delayed by one and a half hours due to frost. A similar delay is expected for Wednesday's final round.

The Cardinal were once again led by sophomore Jennifer Tangtiphaiboontana who carded a 73 today, bringing her two-round total to 146 (73-73) and is tied for 22nd individually. Teammate Wendra Liang is tied for 39th with a 149 (75-74) after shooting a 74. Sophomore golfer Lauren Todd checks in tied for 47th with a 150 (76-74) while Stephanie Lue is tied for 57th (76-75--151), just a stroke behind Todd. Kelly Husted carded a 152 over two rounds (78-74) and is tied for 62nd heading into Wednesday's final round.

Oklahoma State's Karin Sjodin and Arizona State's Louise Stahl are tied for first on the individual leaderboard with an eight-under par 134. Brittany Lang, from Duke, is four strokes back with a 138. Three players are tied for fourth with a 141.

The final 18 holes will be contested tomorrow in Sunriver, Ore. with a shotgun start.
